The 2.5mm solid oak on top will retain and redistribute all heat from the home so you never have to worry about walking over freezing cold flooring, and the horrible shivering feeling that is associated.  The flooring is extremely easy to upkeep, and we would recommend a sweep/ vacuum -on a suitable hardwood flooring setting- as often as possible, or at least once a week to minimise surface dirt, and therefore reduce the risk of scratching. The boards should be cleaned using a appropriate wood floor cleaner, extra care should be taken to ensure any spills are cleaned as soon as possible, and not to leave any pools of standing water on the board for any length of time as over time this can damage your flooring. There should be felt pads installed onto any pieces of furniture, especially those that are moved around a lot i.e. dining room chairs. Try to avoid rubber pads as they can damage the flooring and leave permanent marks. A good doormat placed at any front and back doors will help to catch any stubborn dirt on the bottom of your shoes that would otherwise be walked through the home, this in turn will also help to prevent damaging your beautiful new engineered wood flooring.
